The 22nd December, 137th Birth day of Srinivasa Ramanujan, National Mathematics Day 2024, was celebrated by Science Centre, Midnapore in association with IAPT CSC of Midnapore College at Midnapore College Seminar Hall where a total of 66 students of 8th, 9th class from 11 schools participated in the audiovisual Quiz on Mathematics and Discussion on the life and work of Srinivasan Ramanujan. Professor of Mathematics Dr. Bijan Kumar Das presented the PowerPoint presentation on Ramanujan.
In the audiovisual quiz on mathematics Ramkrishna Mission Vidya bhawan won the champion trophy and Jhargram Kumud kumari Institution won the Runner-up trophy. Also, prizes and certificates were given for individual performance and memento to 6 place holders from 8th and 9th group. TIC of Midnapore College Dr. S Ghosh, President of Science Center Dr. Gopal Chandra Bera and CSC Incharge Prof S Mondal were actively involved in the said programme. Secretary, Science Centre, S K Pan, gave thanks all for successful implementation of the program.
